Our Story
About Buddy & Bean
Flower Farm
Buddy & Bean Flower Farm is located on just under four acres of family-owned land in beautiful Lowell, Michigan. We are a seed-to-vase flower farm — every bouquet is made up of flowers started from seed and grown right here. Our flower are a fresh as you can get — they’re harvested by hand, arranged with care and on our roadside stand in less than 24 hours.
We currently have an acre of land dedicated to flower production, divided into a few growing beds, with plans to expand.
Though we have grown for years, the flower stand opened to the public in 2020. We don’t have any heavy equipment, and most of the work is all done the old fashioned way — by hand, with lots of care.
Sustainably grown
We work hard to be part of the ecosystem, we grow sustainably and do not use pesticides.
Fresh Cut
Flowers are cut at the correct harvest stage, less than 24 hours before being arranged.
Arranged with care
Grab and go bouquets make easy gifts. The jar is always included!
The Lowell Flower Lady
Meet Nicole
Hi, I’m Nicole, your friendly Lowell Flower Lady. I’m the one you see out in the field, planting the seeds, pulling the weeds, harvesting and arranging the flowers here at Buddy & Bean.
I’ve always loved flowers, and when we moved to the farm in 2015 I began working toward my secret dream of becoming a flower farmer. We worked for a few years to establish our garden and build up the soil health naturally, growing mostly veggies … but every year my flower patch would grow larger and larger.
Now it’s not accurate to call it a garden any more — we have about an acre of flowers in production and more on the way.
Flowers take up so much of my life — from researching best farming practices and working on building our soil health, to starting seeds in the dead of winter and then of course spending all summer and fall harvesting these beauties — and sometimes I really have to pinch myself.
I may be the main Flower Lady, but I certainly don’t do it alone. The whole family helps out here — and even more than that, they tolerate seed starting supplies and flowers covering the house.
Thank you for supporting locally grown flowers!
